Kennedy (Goss) Hixon, LMHC, CMPC
Staff Therapist (she/her)
Kennedy is no stranger to high achievement.

A lifelong elite athlete - and an Olympic medalist - Kennedy knows the integral role of mental health in performance and success.

Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Kennedy works with her clients towards internal strength and peak performance - whether this is at home or work in our relationships, or on the sports field, music stage, corporate meeting, or personal practice areas. Achievers have a unique culture, mindset and need to excel, at all stages of career and across many contexts. As such, Kennedy partners with her clients, focusing on mindfulness, effective communication, performance, negative-self talk, personal self-care, perfectionism, and anxiety. She opens a space for achievers to be their full self, both performance based, and personally.
Kennedy is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York. She holds dual master's degrees in Mental Health Counseling from Columbia University's Teachers College. She also is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC) administered by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). She specialized in working with college student-athletes at Rutgers University, where she operated under the supervision of Dr. Peter Economou. She has an undergraduate degree in psychology and a minor in public health from Indiana University. Additionally, she has specialized experience working in substance use and addiction.
Kennedy believes we are all worthy of our full potential in maximizing our lives. She’s here to provide a kind, nurturing environment for our whole selves to be challenged, explored and cared for.
Kennedy works in tandem with the team at Purpose Squared Mental Health Counseling, a boutique counseling and coaching practice in New York City. She sees clients from all over the state via telehealth and in-person.
